Ian Rosales
Hello, my name is Ian Rosales and I’m a Biology major at North Central College. A family history of plant-loving people has led me to start studying the field of botanical sciences. Working in Dr. W’s lab proved to be a great starting point for more in depth work, as being able to help study the relationships between an invasive and a native thistle with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi has helped me to further pursue research and broaden my view of the field. I look forward to doing more research in the future and pursuing further education in the field.

Nicole B.
Hello! My name is Nicole Baker, and I am a biology major with an interest in pursuing a career in research. I was very excited to find that a research opportunity with Dr. Weremijewicz was available involving the two areas of biology I am most interested in, mycology and plant biology. This lab is a great opportunity to further my understanding of the interactions that take place between arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and specific plants underground. I look forward to learning more about common mycorrhizal networks and expanding my research experience.
